Turnkey Systems
Building on proven hydrogen plant designs of The
Electrolyser Corporation Ltd., Stuart Energy can supply fully engineered hydrogen vehicle
fuel appliances. Appliances include on-site hydrogen production using water electrolysis
with storage systems designed to provide the lowest cost hydrogen based on available power
rates.
Why Electrolysis
The inherent stability of the Stuart Energy electrolysis
process allows operation on an intermittent basis; production can be scheduled to meet
fuel demand and low power rates. The electrolysis cell technology of Stuart Energy Systems
Inc. has been proven in industrial applications. The production rate is flexible so it can
be increased to take advantage of "off-peak" electricity rates and reduced
during peak demand periods. Direct refueling by on-site electrolysis reduces the amount of
hydrogen fuel storage further enhancing the safety of the system.
Rapid Deployment
In most configurations the fuel appliance can be supplied
as a combination of Stuart Energy modules. The modules are built into shipping containers
for transportation to site and rapid deployment. The basic system consists of electrolysis
production equipment, including power supply and compressors, in one or more containers.
Storage, when needed, is provided in standard high pressure gas receivers. Fuel appliances
with an output pressure of up to 5000 psig can be provided.
Automatic/Unattended Operation
The fuel appliance is designed to operate unattended and only
requires occasional inspection. Monitoring and on-site maintenance can be supplied by
Stuart Energy so the fuel appliance operator need only initiate refueling. The modular
construction of Stuart Energy plants guarantees production availability even during
maintenance periods.
